New & Improved Lip Balm

lipbalmAfter finding another recipe for lip balm, I decided to try it out and make two batches, one using lavender essential oil and the other using peppermint essential oil. I also bought some lip balm tubes for easier application and am just ecstatic with the results!

I love this lip balm! With the added ingredients of cocoa butter and vitamin E oil it is very moisturizing and leaves my lips feeling luxuriously soft. Both the peppermint and lavender smell equally wonderful. I use the lavender at night before bed and the peppermint during the day for a little pick-me-up.

Ingredients: sunflower oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, peppermint or lavender essential oil, vitamin E oil.

Peppermint & Cocoa Butter Lotion Bar

Peppermint & Cocoa Butter Lotion Bars

My first attempt at making any kind of lotion. It turned out very well if I do say so myself. If you like peppermint and chocolate you’ll love this scrumptious lotion. I, personally, have never cared much for the scent of peppermint, but it is mild enough and balanced out by the cocoa butter that I have been enjoying this lotion quite a lot. The cocoa butter is super moisturizing. Since it is a bar, application works best by rubbing it between the hands. However, I have used it all over just by running the bar along the skin.

Ingredients: cocoa butter, beeswax, coconut oil, peppermint oil.

*I have recently started using this on my face and I love it! The harsh winter weather was drying out my face and the store-bought face lotions I had on hand just weren’t cutting it. Since I have started using this on my face I haven’t had any problems with dryness. Cocoa butter works by forming a protective layer and helps skin retain it’s own moisture. What an improvement! I have also started applying it to my lips and am very pleased with their reduced dryness as well. Be aware not to use too much though, as it may leave your face greasy if applied in excess.
